Our Story~ Where It Began
The Pro Balancer was born from decades of real-world horsemanship, not trends or shortcuts.
David and Diane Roberts grew up in Central Florida surrounded by horses, rodeo, and competition. Horses shaped both their lives and their values. Over the years, they became known as a respected rodeo family and successful business owners who believed in training built on understanding, not force.
The Problem That Changed Everything
After years of training horses, one particularly challenging horse exposed a gap in traditional training aids. Existing tools often created resistance, confusion, or relied on harsher pressure instead of clearer communication.
Rather than accept that limitation, David and Diane set out to design something better, a tool that worked with the horse’s natural learning process.
The Original D R Pro Balancer
Drawing from more than 60 years of combined experience, the Roberts created The Original DR Pro Balancer, a training aid designed to bridge halter training and bitted work while preserving softness, balance, and trust. It was never intended to replace good riding. It was created to support it.
Carrying the Legacy Forward
Baronelwood Horsanship Systems LLC represents the next generation of the Pro Balancer story. With over 40 years in the equine industry, Baronelwood brings a rare combination of competitive success, technical education, and whole-horse understanding. Recognizing the depth and integrity of what David and Diane Roberts created, Baronelwood partnered with them to bring The Original D R Pro Balancer to the broader equine world, ensuring it remained true to its purpose while becoming accessible to riders of all levels and disciplines.

The Original D R Pro Balancer was created by lifelong horsemen to solve a real training problem, not to follow a market trend or imitate existing equipment. Every design decision was made with the horse’s learning process in mind.
Trainer Program
The Pro Balancer is designed to support training programs, not replace them. Trainers and lesson barns use it as a communication tool to help riders develop better timing and clarity.
