The Junior Safety Set includes the Pro Balancer plus kid training reins. It’s designed around one reality: kids and smaller riders should not have to rely on strength to be safe. Because the Pro Balancer begins communication at the nose, a place the horse already understands from halter training, it supports clearer cues for the horse and gives the child a mechanical advantage in communication.
Why that matters for safety:
Safety disclaimer : This is a training aid and not a safety device. No product can guarantee safety. Youth riders should be supervised, wear protective gear, and ride in a controlled environment.

The Junior Safety Set includes kid training reins with color-coded knots that act like “hand placement markers.” These knots give parents and instructors an easy way to coach a child in real time, helping the rider stay consistent, calm, and clear with their signals. Parents and instructors can quickly coach a child’s rein length and hand position, without confusion, so signals stay consistent and the ride stays calmer.
Instead of shouting “shorten your reins!” you can say:
“Go to pink.” “Hold green.” “Find blue for your turn.”
Simple, clear cues = better learning and safer rides.
What each color means (Example Only)
Pink Knots = “Breathe / Relax / Drop Your Hands”
Pink is a reset button. When a child gets tense or their hands come up, pink reminds them to breathe, soften, and lower their hands, helping the horse settle and helping the rider regain control calmly.
Green Knots = “Deeper Hold for WHOA (or Turn Support)”
Green is used when “whoa” isn’t enough and the child needs a stronger, more organized hold to ask for stop. It can also be used to support a right or left turn when the rider needs more direction and steadiness.
Blue Knots = “Tighter Turns & Direction Changes (More Ask)”
Blue is for tighter turning circles and sharper direction changes, used when the rider needs a little more “ask” than their normal rein position provides.
Safety Notice: This is a training aid, not a safety device. No product can guarantee safety. Youth riders should be supervised, wear protective gear, and ride in a controlled environment.
Why this helps kids be safe
Kids learn fastest when they have simple reference points. The color knots teach consistent rein length and hand placement, so the child’s signals are clearer. Clearer signals reduce confusion, reduce tug-of-war moments, and support calmer, more responsive rides.
Great for:
Training aid use should be used as instructed and introduced in a controlled setting. No product can guarantee safety. Always ride with appropriate instruction and protective gear.
